Buying Assistant / Contract / London / £35,000
My client, a leading home furnishings retailer, is looking for a Buying Assistant to join them on a full-time basis for an initial six-month contract. As a Buying Assistant in this role, you should have strong knowledge of the retail industry and be able to provide essential admin support to the wider procurement function. You will need experience in coordinating with suppliers and looking at product data.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Process purchase orders and maintain purchase records
- Updating pricing
- Support with communication to suppliers regarding delivery and sampling
- Update and manage the product catalogue
- Assess product launch progress and update relevant management
- Work closely with product data and report on this during launch
- Ensure the relationship with agencies is maintained in regards to product launches
- Work closely with marketing and other relevant departments
Essential Skills:
- Previous experience in a Buying/ purchasing admin position
- Experience within retail and home furnishings is preferred or a similar category
- Able to manage multiple tasks at one time and work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in meeting tight deadlines
- Strong Excel skills is essential with the ability to interpret data
Package:
- £35,000 base salary
- 6-month contract
- Based fully on site with two office locations available
